Torrence “Lil Boosie” Hatch and his troubled legal past looms heavily over the southern rapper’s head as he faces not only a murder charge for which he was indicted for in 2010 but also drug distribution charges while behind bars. However, the eldest of Boosie’s children is making her attempt to elevate the family name with a message of positivity via a new Hip Hop album and promoting anti-violence.

Young Iviona Hatch, just nine years of age, has shown remarkable poise for a youngster by joining the U Hatin? Campaign” which focuses on teaching others the value of overcoming negative traits. Little Iviona said she learned of the campaign from her incarcerated dad – who recently plead not-guilty to the murder charges in June of this year.

In a press release, Iviona showed her support for the campaign. “I believe in ‘U Hatin?’ because it teaches people to stop and think about what they are doing and saying, this is opposed to pulling people down,” said the newbie rapper in a statement. Iviona has the backing of the campaign’s chairman as well. “Iviona‘s songs are about having a high self-esteem, getting a good education, listening to your parents and believing in your dreams,” says Lance Silver who heads the campaign. “She does all of this through entertaining rhymes and storytelling with the same swag as her daddy.”

Iviona will be dropping her debut single “So Hot” sometime next month.

Lil Boosie Busted For Trying To Smuggle Cough Syrup Into Prison

Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie was busted recently, despite already being behind bars.

Louisiana State Police filed charges against the 27-year-old rapper for trying to smuggle drugs into prison.

According to local CBS news affiliate WAFB 9, Boozie (real name: Torrence Hatch) was charged, along with two other inmates, for attempting to smuggle codeine syrup — also known as sizzurp in southern hip-hop circles — into the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, where he is currently housed.

The news channel reports that authorities received information that the three men were conspiring to smuggle the illegal substances into Angola.

Investigators said Boosie’s accomplices made arrangements through an undercover agent to have the codeine delivered to the rapper, thus charges were brought forth.

All three men have been charged with conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution; while Boosie was also charged with inciting a felony.

The rapper already faces possession and distribution charges for marijuana, ecstasy and codeine; and is currently being held on a charge of first-degree murder, stemming from an incident in October 2009 in which a Baton Rouge man named Terry Boyd was killed.
